1st ICCFBA

The 1st International Conference on Computational Finance and Business Analytics (CFBA-2023) was organized by Interscience Institute of Management & Technology, Bhubaneswar in the month of April 29th-30th, 2023. Prof. (Dr.) Srikanta Patnaik, Director, IIMT, Bhubaneswar, welcomed all delegates and announced that the conference had received an overwhelming response, with 62 research papers received and 54 papers were registered all over from India and abroad.

The major themes of the conference categorized into four major sections (i)Financial Analytics, (ii) Marketing Analytics, (iii)Human Resource Analytics, and (iv) Business Analytics.

The Financial Analytics theme covered a range of topics. The area of financial analytics and core finance covering the area such as computational intelligence for financial modeling, machine learning in finance, and big data finance and economics. It also included discussions on time series analysis, and financial risk management. Participants exchanged ideas on diverse topics like trading strategies, algorithmic trading, and behavioral finance. The theme also addressed the applications of deep learning, Adversarial Network and Prediction model for stock picking in finance.

For Human Resource Analytics the theme discussed issues related to employee relations, green behaviour in workspace environment. The discussions on management decision making and decision making system on ethics of universities were covered.

The Marketing Analytics theme covered various aspects of marketing, such as, customer retention, and digital marketing. Discussions on demand generation, social media marketing, were also held. Participants shared their insights on decision making in social settings, decision making under uncertainty, and ethical decision making. The theme also focused on pricing analytics, retail sales analytics, and customer relationship management.

The Business Analytics theme covered several topics such as healthcare analytics, machine learning, and optimization. Participants exchanged ideas on supply chain analytics, transportation analytics, and web-based decision making.

The proceedings of the conference “Recent Advancements in Computational Finance and Business Analytics” will be published in Springer Book Series “Learning and Analytics in Intelligent Systems’ which is EI Compendex.

Our keynote speakers Dr. Deepika Gupta, Dr. Ashok Mahapatra and Mr. Ananta Charan Swain took the stage at the International Conference on Computational Finance and Business Analytics; they shared their wealth of experiences that enriched the event. Dr. Gupta, drawing from her extensive academic and research background, shared her journey in developing mathematical models and algorithms for financial data analysis. Dr. Mahapatra, with his vast practical experience in finance and analytics, provided invaluable insights into real-world applications and the challenges faced in implementing computational finance strategies. Mr. Swain, a seasoned industry leader, showcased his expertise through compelling narratives, highlighting the transformative power of business analytics in driving organizational success. With their diverse experiences and perspectives, our keynote speakers inspired attendees, fostering a deeper understanding of the intricacies and opportunities in the realm of computational finance and business analytics.
