Governance and human rights have long been intertwined in shaping societies, ensuring accountability, equality, and justice. From the establishment of foundational charters like the Magna Carta to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, governance systems have evolved to uphold dignity, liberty, and fairness for all. The rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has introduced new dimensions to these principles, offering transformative potential while presenting unprecedented challenges. AI systems are now integrated into decision-making processes, affecting privacy, equality, and the autonomy of individuals. This convergence of governance, human rights, and AI calls for a renewed focus on ethical frameworks and inclusive policies to ensure AI's benefits are equitably distributed while safeguarding fundamental rights in the digital age.
The International Conference on AI, Governance, and Human Rights (AIGHR) is a premier multi-disciplinary platform dedicated to addressing the transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence on governance and human rights. This conference brings together scholars, practitioners, policymakers, and industry leaders from around the globe to share insights, discuss challenges, and explore strategies for fostering responsible AI governance while ensuring the protection and promotion of human rights in an evolving digital landscape.
The conference initiates vibrant discussions and explores challenges, opportunities, and best practices in governing Artificial Intelligence (AI). The emphasis lies on the intersection of AI governance principles with human rights and the broader welfare of humanity. It brings together policymakers, researchers, and practitioners to address critical topics such as privacy, data protection, equality, and non-discrimination—core aspects of responsible AI governance.
The conference highlights the socio-economic and institutional dimensions of AI, focusing on promoting human autonomy, safeguarding economic, social, and cultural rights, and ensuring AI benefits all. Additionally, it examines the role of corporate, governments, civil societies, and international organizations in implementing AI governance principles that respect and strengthen human rights frameworks. Discussions will also focus on planning and implementing AI-driven processes that promote, exercise, and reinforce human rights globally.
