In the name Professor Prabhat Kumar Mahanti, the organising committee of IIST-2024 has installed an award in the name of “ Prof. Prabhat Kumar Mahanti Best Paper Award ” from the year 2024. Professor Prabhat Kumar Mahanti is associated with Interscience Research Network and as a distinguished Professor in the Department of Computer Science he has contributed a lot to the academic society.
IIST-2024 will announce a best paper award. The winner of the best paper award shall receive a citation and reimbursement of the registration fee towards the paper.
Short Bio-data of Professor Prabhat Kumar Mahanti
Dr. Prabhat Kumar Mahanti is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of New Brunswick, Canada. His academic journey includes earning a Master of Science degree from IIT-Kharagpur, India, and a Ph.D. from IIT-Bombay, which is renowned as one of India's top-ranking premier institutions.
Professor Mahanti's extensive research portfolio spans various domains within computer science, showcasing his expertise in Software Engineering, software metrics, reliability modelling, modelling and simulation, numerical algorithms, finite elements, mobile and soft computing, verification of embedded software, neural computing, data mining, Machine Learning, and multi-agent systems.
With a prolific academic career, spanning four decades and multiple continents, Professor Mahanti has authored and contributed to hundreds of research papers and technical reports, solidifying his standing as a respected figure in the international academic community. His membership in various international technical committees further underscores his commitment to advancing knowledge and contributing to the development of cutting-edge technologies within the field of computer science.

Dr. Aniket Mahanti is a researcher, educator, and award-winning author who brings over 15 years of experience designing, measuring, analyzing, and modelling complex distributed systems. Currently, he is a Senior Lecturer (Rest of the world: Associate Professor) of Computer Science at The University of Auckland. He received his doctorate in computer science from the University of Calgary, Canada, in 2012. Between 2006 and 2008, he worked as a Research Associate with the Computer Networks group at the University of Calgary. His expertise spans multiple domains such as computer science, social sciences, and business. His post-secondary education was fully funded by prestigious scholarships like the national Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Canada Graduate Scholarship (CGS), and the provincial Alberta Innovates Technology Futures (AITF) graduate student scholarship. He received the best paper award at the International Conference on Smart and Sustainable Agriculture (SSA) 2021.

Ajit Kumar Nayak is the professor and HOD of the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. He graduated in Electrical Engineering from the Institution of Engineers, India in the year 1994, obtained M. Tech. and Ph. D. degree in Computer Science from Utkal University in 2001 and 2010 respectively. His research interests include Computer Networking, Ad Hoc & Sensor Networks, Machine Learning, Natural Language Computing, Speech and Image Processing etc. He has published about 55 research papers in various journals and conferences. Also co-authored a book ‘Computer Network Simulation using NS2’, CRC Press. He has also participated as an organizing member of several conferences and workshops in International and National level.
