Durgamani Hota“Best Dissertation Award in Human Resource Development (HRD)” from the year 2024. Dr. Deepak Kumar Hota is a pioneer in the field of Human Resource and Development through his dynamic leadership and strategic vision.
To pay Homage to Smt. Durgamani Hota DHRM-2024 will announce a best paper award. The winner of the best paper award shall receive a citation and reimbursement of the registration fee towards the paper.

Short Bio-data of Dr. Deepak Kumar Hota:
Dr. Deepak Kumar Hota, an esteemed alumnus of St. Stephen's College and XLRI Jamshedpur, is a seasoned professional with over 38 years of exemplary experience in two prestigious Schedule "A" Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), namely HPCL and BEML. His journey is marked by a rich tapestry of achievements, leadership, and a relentless commitment to excellence.Commencing his professional voyage in April 1983 at HPCL, Dr. Hota dedicated two decades to the organization, where he adeptly handled various functions in HR, IR, and OD. His tenure culminated in a significant milestone – leading a change management initiative in collaboration with SoL (Society for Organizational Learning) and Peter Senge, the renowned author of "The Fifth Discipline."During his tenure at HPCL, Dr. Hota served as the Head of Market Research Analysis and Planning (MRA&P) and the Natural Gas Division. He also assumed the role of CEO at HPCL BioFuels. His departure from HPCL in June 2013 marked the end of a successful era where he left an indelible mark on the organization.Subsequently, Dr. Hota took on the role of Director HR at BEML and later ascended to the position of C&MD (Chairman and Managing Director). Under his dynamic leadership, he fervently championed the "Make in India" policy, propelling BEML to achieve a record order book. His strategic vision elevated the BEML brand across three verticals – Defence & Aerospace, Rail & Metro, and Mining & Construction. His credits include spearheading the development of the first unmanned urban metro for Mumbai, designing the indigenous developed 200-ton dump truck, and contributing to the creation of a 1500 HP engine for the Main Battle Tank.Dr. Hota's influence extended beyond the corporate realm. As Head of FICCI Public Procurement Chair, he addressed policy issues for "Atma Nirbharta" (Self-Reliance) with the Government of India. In his role as Vice President of the Southern region, he actively advanced the UN Global Compact (UNGC) agenda on sustainability. On the night of 15th September 2023, at the age of 93, our beloved mother, Smt. Durgamani Hota, embarked on her final journey to meet her Maker. Her departure leaves an indelible void in our lives, but her legacy of love, strength, and wisdom will forever remain in our hearts.Married at the tender age of 12, she began a journey that would define her as a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Born the only daughter of doting parents, she gracefully navigated the intricate maze of marriage, dedicating her life to nurturing and shaping the lives of her eight children.Smt. Durgamani Hota was the epitome of gentleness, care, and deep religiosity. Despite the challenges that came with managing a large family, she was a beacon of determination and courage. Her values were her guiding light, and she instilled in us a sense of pride in our upbringing. With a laissez-faire approach, she allowed us to be ourselves, fostering an environment that allowed each of her children to blossom into successful citizens.Innately curious, she found joy in learning new things and marveled at the wonders of modern technology. The smartphone and computer fascinated her, showcasing her adaptability to the changing times. Her love for cricket, especially her admiration for Dhoni and Kohli, was infectious. The sight of the Indian team triumphing over their opponents brought chuckles of glee to her face.Through the years, Smt. Durgamani Hota held the family together, even after the passing of our father. Her final moments were a testament to the love she had cultivated, as all her children surrounded her bedside, providing comfort and solace.
