May we be protected and nourished together, may we work together with strength and dedication, and may our learning be illuminating. Respected Chairman, distinguished guests, faculty members, parents, and my dear students,
It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you all to this Endowment Award Ceremony at Interscience Institute of Management & Technology (IIMT), Bhubaneswar. Today is a very special occasion as we come together to celebrate academic excellence, dedication, perseverance, and achievement.
IIMT has been committed to providing quality education and developing young professionals who are academically competent, innovative, ethical, and socially responsible. Over the years, the Institute has continuously evolved in response to the changing needs of industry and society, while maintaining its commitment to excellence in management, computer applications, engineering, technology, and research.
A significant part of our academic culture is the recognition of merit. The Endowment Awards at IIMT have been instituted to acknowledge and encourage students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance.
These awards are made possible through the generous support and vision of distinguished individuals who believe in nurturing young talent and promoting academic excellence.
Today, we are particularly proud to recognize the students who have secured the highest academic performance in MBA, MCA, and B.Tech. programmes. Their achievements reflect not only their intellectual ability but also their discipline, hard work, consistency, and commitment to learning.
I sincerely congratulate all the award recipients. Your achievement is a matter of pride for your families, your teachers, and the entire IIMT community. At the same time, I hope your success will inspire your fellow students to set higher goals and pursue excellence with determination.
I would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the Endowment Award donors and distinguished personalities whose generosity has made these recognitions possible. Their contribution is an investment in the future of our students and in the larger cause of education.

Carry forward the spirit of excellence that you have demonstrated today and continue to learn, innovate, and contribute.
Once again, I warmly welcome everyone to this memorable ceremony and extend my heartiest congratulations to all the award winners, especially our achievers from MBA, MCA, and B.Tech.
May your accomplishments today be the beginning of many greater achievements tomorrow.
Thank you, Jai Hind.

Prof. (Dr.) Jayadev Kar
Respected faculty members, dear students, and members of the IIMT family,
A very warm and proud Independence Day to all of you.
Today, as we gather to celebrate the 80th Independence Day of our great nation, we remember with deep gratitude the countless freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives and dedicated themselves to the cause of a free India. Their courage, determination, and patriotism laid the foundation of the India that we are privileged to live in today.
Independence is not merely a historical event. It is a continuing responsibility. The freedom we inherited comes with the responsibility to protect our democratic values, uphold our constitutional principles, respect one another, and contribute positively to society.
India today stands at an important moment in its journey. Our nation is making remarkable progress in science and technology, digital transformation, entrepreneurship, education, infrastructure, and innovation. We are witnessing an India that is confident, ambitious, and increasingly capable of shaping the future rather than simply responding to it.
Dear students,
You are among the most important contributors to this journey. The future of India will not be built only in government offices or corporate boardrooms; it will be built in our classrooms, laboratories, libraries, startups, research centres, and communities.
Your education should not be limited to obtaining a degree or securing a job. Education should develop character, competence, creativity, compassion, and a sense of responsibility.
As students of IIMT, I encourage you to dream boldly, learn continuously, question intelligently, and work honestly. Use technology not merely for convenience, but as a tool to solve real problems. Let innovation be guided by ethics, and let success be measured not only by personal achievement but also by the positive difference you make in the lives of others.
To my esteemed faculty colleagues,
Our role is equally significant. A teacher does much more than deliver a curriculum. A teacher shapes minds, inspires confidence, nurtures curiosity, and helps young people discover their purpose.
Let us therefore continue to create an environment where students feel encouraged to think independently, experiment fearlessly, and pursue excellence. Let us prepare them not only for the jobs of today but also for the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow.
The strength of any educational institution ultimately lies in the quality of its people and the values it cultivates. Together, let us make IIMT a place where knowledge meets character, innovation meets responsibility, and education meets nation-building.
On this Independence Day, let us also remember that patriotism is expressed through our everyday actions—by performing our duties sincerely, respecting the dignity of others, protecting our environment, following the law, rejecting discrimination, and contributing to the development of our communities.
Let us pledge to build an India that is educated, innovative, inclusive, self-reliant, compassionate, and globally respected.
Dear students, whenever you achieve something in your life, remember the institution that helped shape you and the nation that gave you the opportunity to dream. Wherever you go, carry with you the values of IIMT and the spirit of India.
As we celebrate 80 years of independence, let us look back with gratitude, look around with responsibility, and look ahead with confidence.
Let us work together for an India where every young person has the opportunity to learn, grow, innovate, and contribute.
May our Tricolour always fly high.Jai Hind!
Jai Bharat!

A very warm and cordial welcome to you all!
It gives me immense pleasure and a profound sense of pride to welcome you to this significant occasion marking the inauguration of the International Centre for AI Governance & Human Rights (ICAIR) and the International Journal of Artificial Intelligence Governance and Human Rights (IJAIGHR) at the Interscience Institute of Management & Technology, Bhubaneswar.
Today is indeed a landmark occasion for IIMT. We are not merely inaugurating a Centre and launching a Journal; we are taking an important step towards creating a platform for responsible, ethical, inclusive and human-centric development of Artificial Intelligence.
Artificial Intelligence is transforming almost every dimension of contemporary society. From education, healthcare and business to governance, communication, research and public services, AI is creating unprecedented opportunities. At the same time, its rapid expansion raises important questions concerning human rights, privacy, accountability, transparency, fairness, bias, security and ethical responsibility.
It is therefore essential that technological advancement is accompanied by thoughtful governance and a strong commitment to human values. The establishment of ICAIR represents our institutional commitment to promoting dialogue, research, collaboration and knowledge creation at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, governance and human rights.
Equally significant is the inauguration of the International Journal of Artificial Intelligence Governance and Human Rights. The Journal will provide an academic platform for scholars, researchers, practitioners and policymakers to exchange ideas, present research findings and critically examine the emerging opportunities and challenges associated with AI governance and human rights. We stand at a critical crossroads in human history. The rapid progression of artificial intelligence is fundamentally redefining societies, economies, governance frameworks, and fundamental human rights. While AI brings unprecedented capabilities for progress, it also presents profound ethical, legal, and human rights challenges.
The establishment of this International Centre and Journal serves as a dedicated academic and policy sanctuary—a platform to bridge technology with human dignity, ensure algorithmic accountability, and establish robust governance frameworks for a technology-driven future.
At IIMT, we strongly believe that education and research must remain connected with the needs and challenges of society. Our objective is not only to prepare students and researchers for a technology-driven future but also to nurture professionals who understand that technology must ultimately serve humanity.
On this special occasion, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our Hon’ble Chief Guest and Guest of Honour for graciously accepting our invitation and adding immense value and dignity to this programme. Your presence is a source of encouragement and inspiration for the entire IIMT family.
I also express my sincere appreciation to our beloved Chairman, Prof. (Dr.) Srikanta Patnaik, whose vision and leadership continue to inspire several academic and research initiatives at IIMT. I acknowledge with gratitude the valuable efforts of Prof. (Dr.) Rutuparna Panda, Dean, Research & Publications and all members of the faculty, research team and Organizing Committee who have contributed towards conceptualizing and developing these important initiatives.
I am confident that ICAIR and IJAIGHR will emerge as meaningful platforms for interdisciplinary research, international collaboration, policy dialogue and responsible innovation in Artificial Intelligence. I hope that these initiatives will bring together academicians, researchers, technologists, policymakers, legal experts and industry leaders to collectively address the complex challenges emerging in the AI era.
As we inaugurate these initiatives today, let us reaffirm our commitment to building an AI ecosystem that is innovative yet responsible, powerful yet accountable, technologically advanced yet deeply rooted in human dignity and rights.
Once again, on behalf of the entire IIMT family, I extend my warmest welcome to all our distinguished guests and participants. I sincerely hope that this inaugural ceremony marks the beginning of a new and impactful journey of research, collaboration and knowledge creation. With these words, I welcome you all again and wish the programme great success.

Prof. (Dr.) Jayadev Kar
Excellencies, distinguished guests, and fellow citizens of the world,
We gather today at a unique moment in history. As we move deeper into 2026, the world is witnessing a transformation unlike any before. We are surrounded by the incredible potential of artificial intelligence, the urgency of climate action, and the persistent echoes of global conflict.
In this era of rapid change, the question arises: What remains constant? The answer lies in our Universal Human Values. These are not merely abstract concepts; they are the shared moral compass that ensures our technological and economic progress which does not outpace our humanity.
At the heart of our mission is the recognition that every human being is born free and equal in dignity and rights.
Equality is not a gift: As we have seen in our recent global sessions, equality—especially gender equality—is a right that must be defended every day. It is the engine of sustainable development.
Justice as a Birth right: Whether in the physical world or the digital sphere, justice must remain accessible to all. We cannot allow inequality to harden into poverty.
"Our shared values are the only armour we have against the fragmentation of our societies. When we protect the rights of the most vulnerable, we secure the future of the entire human family."
This year, as we celebrate the 60th anniversary of International Literacy Day, our theme is "Literacy for People, the Planet, and Prosperity." Education is the primary vehicle for transmitting human values. In 2026, literacy means more than just reading and writing; it means digital and ethical literacy. We must ensure that:
AI serves humanity: Technology should be a tool for inclusion, not a weapon for disinformation or division.
Cultural Wisdom is preserved: We must bridge the gap between ancient values—like Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the world is one family)—and modern innovation.
We are currently looking into the "AI Mirror." As algorithms begin to shape our choices and narratives, we must be relentless in embedding human-centric ethics into every line of code.
Transparency: We must demand accountability from those who control global narratives.
Empathy by Design: Technology must be designed to foster compassion and understanding, rather than amplifying our differences.
Finally, let us remember that peace is more than the absence of war. It is a proactive state of harmony.
Peace with Nature: Our values must extend to the environment. We cannot claim to value human life while destroying the planet that sustains it.
Solidarity: In 2026, global military spending has reached record highs. Imagine the world we could build if even a fraction of those resources were redirected towards fighting poverty and fostering education.
The future does not belong to the most powerful machines, but to the most compassionate hearts. Let us resolve today to get our priorities straight: People and Planet over Pain.
Let us move forward with the courage to act on our values, ensuring that the progress of 2026 is measured not just by our GDP or our processing power, but by the dignity and peace we afford to every human being.

Prof. (Dr.) Jayadev KarRespected, distinguished faculty members, dear colleagues, and my lovely, dear students, Good morning to all of you and a very happy 77th Republic Day.
Today, as the tricolour rises high and the National Anthem fills the air, we are reminded that the Republic of India was not born merely on 26th January 1950, but through the courage, sacrifice and vision of countless individuals who believed in a better tomorrow—even when the odds were overwhelming.
Our Constitution is not just a legal document. It is a promise.
A promise of equality, opportunity, responsibility, and dignity.
And that promise rests today, more than ever, on your shoulders, dear students.
You are studying in a time when India is transforming rapidly—economically, technologically, and socially. We are witnessing India’s rise as a global voice, a digital leader, a startup hub, and an innovation powerhouse. But let me say this very clearly:
👉 A nation does not become great because of policies alone. As students, you may sometimes feel pressure—pressure to perform, to compete, to succeed quickly. That is natural. But remember this:
The goal is not just to get ahead in life, but to take others along with you.India needs professionals who:
Think independentlyWhether you become managers, entrepreneurs, civil servants, researchers, or educators—ask yourself one simple question every day:
“How am I contributing to my mother India of tomorrow?”On this Republic Day, I urge you to:
Be disciplined in your effortsDream big, work hard, fail bravely, learn constantly—but never forget your roots and your responsibility to this nation. Let us pledge today to uphold the values of our Constitution not just in words, but in action. Let us strive to make India not only a powerful nation, but a just, inclusive, and enlightened one.
I am confident that the students of IIMT Bhubaneswar will not just participate in India’s growth story—you will lead it.
Jay Jagannath
Jai Hind.
Jai Bharat.
Happy Republic Day to all.
As we come together to celebrate the auspicious festival of Durga Puja, I extend my warmest wishes to all our faculty members, staff, and students. This festival is not only a time of joy and devotion but also a reminder of the timeless values of strength, wisdom, and resilience that Maa Durga embodies.
Just as Maa Durga inspires us to triumph over challenges, let us also channel her spirit in our journey of academic and institutional excellence. Each one of you plays a vital role in shaping the growth and progress of our college. Your dedication, creativity, and commitment are the true pillars that will help us reach greater heights.
In this festive season, let us renew our collective energy and reaffirm our vision of making our institution a center of innovation, learning, and holistic development. Together, with courage and determination, we can overcome every obstacle and move closer to building a future that empowers not only our students but also the community we serve.

Prof. (Dr.) Jayadev KarRespected Chairman Sir, esteemed members of the faculty, dear staff, my beloved students and distinguished guests, on this proud morning of our 79th Independence Day, as the tricolour soars high in the golden light of August, we gather not just as members of an institution, but as citizens of a great nation united by a shared history and a shared dream. Seventy-nine years ago, the soil of India bore witness to unparalleled courage—millions marched with determination, endured struggle, and embraced sacrifice so that we might inherit the gift of freedom. That freedom was not given; it was earned through unity, conviction, and the unwavering belief that generations yet to come deserved dignity and self-determination.
Today, as a young and growing institution, we too find ourselves at the threshold of a new dawn, much like India did in 1947, tasked with building from the foundation of vision, values and dedication. Under the wise guidance of our respected Chairman Sir, we are shaping IIMT into a temple of learning where knowledge is not only imparted but lived. To my faculty and staff, you are the guiding light who nurture talent and character with devotion. To my beloved students, you are the inheritors of this legacy—your potential extends beyond personal success to the service of society and the shaping of India’s future. Let us remember that freedom is not merely the right to live as we choose, but the responsibility to live in a way that uplifts, inspires, and empowers others. At IIMT, we pledge to build not only professionals of skill but also citizens of character, where our classrooms become spaces of dialogue, our laboratories hubs of innovation, and our campus a living symbol of democracy and unity. On this Independence Day, let us renew our commitment to hold the tricolour not only high above us but deep within us, ensuring that our actions honour the sacrifices of our forefathers and our achievements become the pride of generations yet to come.
