About The Department :

A marketing specialization is an area of study you can pursue in your graduate program that focuses on building campaigns to promote an organization, brand, product or service. In the first year, the students are exposed to the core courses/subjects like Marketing Management and Supply Chain Management which are certain basic and functional area courses. The objective of the core courses is to expose the students to the various functional dimensions of business apart from introducing certain principles that are applicable across the marketing domain. Towards the final year students are thought on specialization subjects link Consumer Behavior, Sales and Distribution Management, Digital Marketing, Services Marketing, Retail Management, Rural Marketing. A unique feature of the Marketing curriculum is that it involves exposure of students to industry experts and corporate talks for significant career growth.

International Conference/Symposium

Every month, each department announces an International Conference wherein we invite dignified personalities from Abroad to be the Chief Speaker of the event. This year Marketing Department successfully conducted International Conference on Digital & Social Marketing: Social, Responsible and Sustainable Marketing (DiSMark 2023) wherein a much renounced stalwart Prof. Jesus Garcia de Madariaga, Faculty of Economics and Business Science Complutense University of Madrid, Spain was the Chief Speaker.

Invited Talks/Skill Development Programs

Over and above the regular courses offered in the program, senior executives from industry and Academics are also invited regularly to offer Immersion Courses (like Skill Development for Safety & Management of Accidents) for the students with an objective of providing insightful discussions on specific topics, which are normally not covered in the regular course curriculum and has practical implications for the students. Moreover, group projects, individual assignments, and presentations, help the students to apply the concepts learnt in different courses to the real world. The Institute organizes Invited talks from different IIMs and Foreign lectures, seminars by eminent scholars and corporate executives which helps them to get the practitioner’s perspective and understand the nuances of the corporate world.

@iimtopenhouse YouTube Channel

IIMT Open House YouTube channel was launched in 2022 which is an open platform for learning for all the students across the country. This channel aims to promote the creativity, innovation and leadership among the management students. It contains talks by expert, mentoring session, book review with authors(domestic & foreign), career planning, extracurricular activities, achievements of various scholars, alumina talks, success stories of ex-students.

Evolving Career in Management

The Book entitled “Evolving Career in Management” was released by Honorable Governor of Odisha Shri. Ganeshi Lal on 25th April 2023. Evolving Career in Management is an ideal to read for the students who are aspiring to pursue management as their career. This book provides an overview of the ever changing world of management. The book includes 15 chapters, out of which 12 chapters have been contributed by professors of IIMs. Aspiring students can listen to the authors at IIMT Open House channel available in our YouTube @iimtopenhouse

IIMT OPEN HOUSE Career Planning Program

We perform IIMT OPEN HOUSE Career Planning sessions as part of our Marketing department in our periphery and supreme Colleges to help young students to be aware of career opportunities and priorities, to choose a career preferable for their durability, lifestyle and to identify their strength. We perform Quiz and also distribute attractive prizes to winners for motivation.

Mrs. Sroojani Mohanty

B.Tech (Information Technology) , MBA(Finance and Marketing), (PhD)

Mrs. Mohanty has close to 4 years of corporate experience in premier Companies like Vodafone and Swash Convergence Technologies. She has worked in the domain of Quality Management and Distribution Management. Her area of interest includes corporate finance, business valuation, financial engineering, financial market, merger and acquisition. She has participated in various seminars, conferences and workshops in finance, sustainable development, corporate restructuring and women empowerment.

Mr. Pradeep Kumar Baxla

BA, PGDM, NET, (Ph.D.)

Pradeep has graduated with honors in English from Loyola College, Chennai and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from IIMT, Bhubaneswar. He was awarded for Best Oratory, Debating and Creative writing by IIMT. After qualifying UGC-NET, he joined IIMT in 2019, as an Assistant Professor in Marketing. He has participated in International and National Seminars and FDPs conducted by AICTE and other reputed Institutions. He is well accepted and appreciated by students. Currently he is also pursuing PhD in Digital Marketing from Utkal University.
